 Mayor Lauds Redevelopment Effort June 6, 2002
     Mayor William A. Johnson  recently celebrated the successful 
conversion of the former General Motors plant into a multi-tenant 
manufacturing facility by Maguire Properties, Inc., with a ribbon 
cutting ceremony at the site.

     The 412,000' building now houses six tenants who have located
there because of the aggressive rental rates and additional economic
development incentives available. The property has been designated 
a NY State Empire Zone, which allows certified businesses located 
there to become  eligible for special tax benefits and utility discounts.

     The Mayor recognized Thomas and Dennis Maguire, owners of 
Maguire Properties, Inc., who purchased and renovated the building, 
"for their assistance in providing the infrastructure of economic 
development in our community." The remaining space is now ready
